One of the many adventures available on the 5th and 6th graders’ annual retreat is boating.  It looks like so much fun—until you stand on the beach with paddle and life vest in hand.

“I’m scared!  What if the boat tips over?  The water is too cold!  I don’t think I should go”, one girl chattered.  But with some instruction in the workings of the boat, some encouragement from her friends, and her own determination, she actually got into the tippy canoe and learned to paddle around the lake.  She was so proud of herself!  Don’t each of us have experiences that are like this?

Jesus said, “I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.”  Abundant life is out there, but how do we take hold of it? One important way is in Christian education.  We learn how to take that next step, we find that there are friends to encourage us, and eventually we have the exhilaration of experiencing that joy that comes in the lifelong journey of knowing Christ more and more deeply.

Christian education programs come in many formats, and for all ages.  Come get your feet wet.

Children are an important part of our church family. We take seriously our responsibility for nurturing them in the Christian faith. Most of our Sunday worship services include a time when children are invited forward for a special message addressed to them.

Children’s Sunday School  Using the "Rotation Workshop" method, Bible stories are taught in a fun and stimulating learning environment. Classes meet from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m; grades kindergarten through sixth grade meet upstairs, preschoolers on the first floor (Christian Education Building).
