Congregational Care and Hospitality

CC
We do not always see everything.  Sometimes we go so fast from place to place and task to task that we fail to see the need around us.  What is it like to not have the basic necessities for life? FPCR has a long heritage of offering “hands on” help locally and internationally.

Most of us know what it is like to be a member of a family.  When we were young our parents looked after us, showed us love, provided our needs.  We grew, started families of our own, became parents and cared for our children using the lessons we learned in our formative years.  As time passes and our parents need help, we are able to return the love and care that they gave us in our youth.

Think of FPCR as a family.  If we are home-bound or hospitalized, we are visited.  If we need a friend, one is ready to see us. No matter what our special needs are, the church will be there for us.

Hospitality implies personal touch:  pouring punch with a welcoming smile, keeping the serving tables full of food, plenty of hot coffee and cold lemonade, fried chicken picnics on the lawn.  Sharing a meal with church friends or getting to know new members over coffee helps us develop our community, make connections, and build the warmth and friendliness that is FPCR.
